Overview
The Waterfall of Corontorio has about 50 meters of height, this fall is product of water overflow of the spring of the Quiscos valley, in rainy season (December-April) the volume of the fall increases considerably. Ccapua valley where the waterfall is has a dry warm climate with an average temperature of 24ºC. in Arequipa this is the only waterfall whose waters come from underground springs.

7:30 am we pick up all the participants, then it takes about one hour to get to the traditional village named Yura, before we start the trek we use time to prepare ourselves, this hike takes approximately 3:00 hrs. up to the waterfalls, the first section lead us through uphill then it is more cross country up and down through small hills formed by volcanic material of Chachani volcano in its eruptive processes many millions years in the past, our hike show us a great variety of cactus over a very semi desertic area where birds are the most common fauna. Later on we arrive to Capua valley, a very remote and hidden place with terraces worked by the local people where the main crops are potatoes, corn, alfalfa, beans, etc. as well as a great variety of wild flora.
once we get to the little canyon the adventure continues this time we have to walk in the river along the canyon for about 2 km where we see leaks of water and shrubs that cover the immense stones, the trail will disappears at times, that is why we must cross the river several times, this part of the tour is quite exciting, the transparency of the water generates an impressive view full of life, once we arrive it is time to rest, appreciate the waterfalls and enjoy the snacks because after a good moment we have to go back to Yura town taking the same trail and if the weather permits, we could enjoy the thermal baths, finally we take our way back to Arequipa city Arriving at 4 – 5 pm approximately ending the service.

To drink coca tea during the day: Helps reduce the effect of altitude (avoid drinking it before going to sleep, as it could be a stimulant and you may not sleep well).
