distance each day, the highest points reaches (5,000
mt/ 16.500 ft) the climate varies from (0°
C/32° F to 15°C/46° F) we will cross
3 high points walking through diverse and beautiful landscapes that will change
daily, from the snow-capped mountains, colorful hills, Hot Springs and wetlands
full of wildlife, among the most representative are the South American camelids as well as Vizcachas, Deer and Birds of the
Andes among others.

Itinerary
Day 1
CUSCO - TINKI - UPIS
At 7:00 am. We pick you up to start our trek to the Ausangate Mountain we leave city and
then we travel by private transportation, we headed south of Cusco.
During the hike we
will pass through very beautiful places typical of the Andes,
small towns, known as Urcos, Ocongate,
Tinki, in which we will meet some locals to say them hello and try to
understand their daily lifestyle, see their faces reflect happiness just by
passing through their villages.
Finally we will reach the community named Upis,
located on the slopes of the Ausangate
Mountain.
After lunch we will
have free time maybe to take a walk around the Ausangate lagoon, or If you are physically well prepared, you will
be able to climb the glacier until you reach perpetual snow (5,300 mt / 17,388 ft) to reach it, you do not
need climbing equipment, it is possible to get there only with trekking boots,
the snow is in a very accessible place but just in case, ask for crampons and a rope to the tour guide, later
we have plenty of time to relax in the hot springs, then we will enjoy a
delicious dinner, after that, the tour
guide will talk about the itinerary for the next day and then we will be ready
to sleep.

Day 2
UPIS - PUKA
QOCHA - PASO CHILLCA - ANANTA
This day will be the
most challenging of this excursion Ausangate Trek because we will hike
more than 20 kilometers and we will also cross 2 high points, Arapa Pass (4,980 meters / 16,335 feet) and Chillca Pass (4,995 meters / 16,384 feet).
This day we have to wake up at 5:00
a.m. then we enjoy a coca tea in our tent but at 5:30 a.m. we will have an energetic breakfast and after that we
will be ready to start.
On the first part we
hiking slowly going up towards Puka
Qocha (Red lagoon) an amazing place to stop
and have incredible pictures also here we will enjoy our healthy lunch with
beautiful views of the stone forests, small
freshwater streams, picturesque lagoons, and steep snow-capped mountains.
after a good rest and
lunch we continue hiking to the Ananta
camp, this part of our adventure will be unique, since we will pass by
second-highest point named Chillca Pass
from where we will have a wonderful panoramic view, we will also pass very
close to hundreds of South American
Camelids (Vicuñas, Alpacas, and Llamas) and
we will know how they look like and what their physical differences are,
finally we will arrive to the Ananta
camp where we spend our second night.

Day 3
ANANTA - RAINBOW MOUNTAIN - RED VALLEY - CHILLIWANI
- CUSCO
This is the last day
of our adventure however, it is a long-awaited day, because we will visit one
of the places that have become very famous during the last 3 years, “the Rainbow Mountain and Red valley”.
This day we wake up a
bit early to be the first group to reach this colorful and beautiful mountain, at 5:30 am we have breakfast and then
we start hiking uphill, doing some stops on the way before we cross the Warmisaya Pass (4985 meters / 16.450 feet) from the pass, it is possible to see
the Rainbow Mountain on the horizon.
We will try to reach it, at a suitable time before the crowd arrives, once we
get the mountain we will have enough time to take excellent panoramic pictures
and enjoy the place without tourists, because after 9:00 a.m. this place is full, more than thousand tourists visit it every
day, by then, we will already be going towards the red
valley, which is another fantastic place. After appreciating the natural
beauty of the place we will start descending to Chilliwani community where our private transportation will be
waiting for us to return to Cusco city,
but before we start our journey we have to say goodbye to the adventure team (muleteers and cook). Finally we will
be in your Hotel approximately at 5:00
p.m.
