ITINERARY


DAY 1
CUSCO – TINKI – PAJCHANTA – PACHASPATA.

To start the 4-day Ausangate trekking tour, we pick you up in your hotel in Cusco at 7:00 am, then we take a 3 hour journey to Pajchanta, where we will visit the hot springs a nice place to relax ourselves and after that enjoy a traditional lunch.
Later on we take a 3 hours hike to Pachaspata camp, which is located at 4,750 meters / 15,483 feet and between high snow-capped mountains, from where you can enjoy magnificent sunset views.

Hiking length: 6 km /3.7 miles
Trekking time: 2 and a half hours
Pajchanta hot springs: 4,320 meters / 14,137 feet
Pachaspata Altitude: 4760 meters / 15,617 feet

DAY 2
PACHASPATA - JAMPA PASS - HUCHUY PHINAYA

Today we will wake up among beautiful glaciers and lagoons we will have breakfast in open air with stunning views. Once we are ready we start hiking uphill to Jhampa Pass (5020 meters / 16470 feet), the first highest point of the Ausangate trek. From here we will enjoy the incredible landscape of the Andes, at noon, we get a nutritious lunch at Jampa Pampa. Then it is time to descend along the banks of a small freshwater river and among hundreds of South American camelids
later we will to arrive to Huchuy Pjinaya camp, our place to have dinner and spend the second night of this exiting expedition. At the right time the tour guide will talk to the group about the next day activities.

DAY 3
HUCHUY PHINAYA – PALOMANI PASS – ANANTA

This morning will be unforgettable as we will be able to observe the Ausangate Mountain in all its dimensions, it is the highest in the Cusco region and the fifth in Peru (6,380 meters / 20,932 feet).
6:00 am. We will have a breakfast that will provide us a lot of energy then we start our Adventure, the goal is to ascend to the Palomani Pass, the highest point of the Ausangate trek. From here the panoramic view is 360° and if our conditions allow it, we may climb another 150 meters to be very close to the glacier. After photographing and enjoying this exciting place, it is time to  descend towards Ausangate Qocha (Ausangate Lagoon), a perfect place to enjoy a gratifying lunch and rest, then we  continue with the hike this time towards the Ananta camp, where we will spend the last night of the expedition.

DAY 4
ANANTA - RAINBOW MOUNTAIN - CHILLIWANI - CUSCO

5:00 a.m. we will have the last breakfast of our expedition to Ausangate, once we are ready we start hiking towards the famous Rainbow Mountain (5030 meters / 16503 feet). Trying to arrive before the crowd and take excellent photos with the first sun's rays and to continue enjoying the charm of nature, we headed to the Valle Colorado viewpoint, where its incredible geological formation and Andean landscape will amaze us, after experiencing These rewarding moments, it is time to descend to Chilliwani community, where we get the last lunch of the trek, this time togueter with the expedition team and finally we will be able to say goodbye to them and then we get on our transport to continue back to the Cusco city  arriving at approximately 6:00 p.m.

RECOMMENDATIONS


We recommend that you take out travel insurance during your trip in Peru


For a better acclimatization you must be in Cusco at least 2 days before the excursion begins


It would be better if you come from another high place, like Arequipa, Puno or Bolivia


Develop physical activity in height (Hiking, Cycling among others) check our programs


Wear appropriate clothing for Treks


Drinking coca tea during the day helps to reduce the effect of altitude (avoid drinking it before bedtime)

· The tour guide has the power to change both the place for lunch and the camping site, all this depending on the progress of the group as well as the weather condition.
· If you need an additional horse to ride or for your extra luggage, you can rent it for a reasonable price
· The expedition to AUSANGATE is a great adventure, the rainy season is between the months of (December - March)
· To do the AUSANGATE TREK, a good physical condition is required.
· Average group size 4 people, maximum 10 per group
·  We DO this Excursion any day of the year with a minimum of 2 participants
· If you rent equipment and damage it, you are responsible for the price of replacement/repair. (Please make correct use of the equipment provided)
·  We offer a discount of $20.00 per person for foreign students under 25 years of age who have a student card with a valid expiration date at the time of their excursion and also for regular students between 8 and 17 years of age.
· This discount will also apply to people from countries belonging to the Andean Community (CAN) Colombia, Bolivia and Ecuador
