Itinerary

First Day
CUSCO - LARES - WAKAWASI

6:00 am our experts team will go to your hotel in Cusco to pick you up and start the expedition, then we will travel in a private transportation to Lares town, during the journey that takes 3 hours approximately, you will be able to enjoy the impressive landscapes that the mother nature offers as you will cross the beautiful and unique Sacred Valley of the Incas and Vilcabamba mountain range.

Once in Lares town we will have the opportunity to relax in the thermo-medicinal water and after it we enjoy a very delicious lunch, later on, we will be ready to start the hike, following an ascending path that will take us to the Wakawasi camp.

The first night we will camp near to a native community who speak Quechua, with which we can interact if you wish, the dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and after it, we will have a meeting with our tour guide who will give us the information about the next day's hike.

Second Day
WAKAWASI - IPSAY PASS - IPSAYQOCHA - PATAKANCHA

On this second day of Lares Trek to Machu Picchu, the expedition cook will wake you up with an aromatic coca tea, then after breakfast, we start the uphill hike to the highest point of the expedition, named as IPSAY PASS (4,350 meters / 14,271 feet) from where you will have spectacular
views of the snow-capped mountains of Pitusiray, Sawasiray, and la Veronica, besides that we will  enjoy the most amazing landscape of the Andes while we hike along the slopes of the mountains hills, as well as the small agricultural areas where the native people still keep the traditional ways of life on a place where the Spanish is their second language.
let’s enjoy a very tasty lunch on the shore of the IPSAYQOCHA (Ipsay Lagoon) this is an excellent place to relax and breathe fresh air, after it, we continue descending towards Patakancha, an Inca descendant community where we will see, villagers and their beautiful, traditional costumes. 

Second Day

Third Day
PATAKANCHA - YANAHUARA VIEWPOINT - OLLANTAYTAMBO - AGUAS CALIENTES

Today, we will wake up in a small colorful town that preserves its culture alive, it is a natural area where andean families continue producing their own typical costumes, raising their animals and believing in their own Gods, after breakfast we start to hike along of a gentle path to Yanahuara viewpoint, from where we will get a beautiful panoramic view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, after that we have to descend on a zigzag path towards the road, where our transportation will be waiting, to take us to Ollantaytambo the place for our lunch, then you will have time to explore the City and also climb the Pinkuylluna Mountain, where there are some huge deposits that the Inca Empire used to store and preserve their food, Later on we have to board the train to Machu Picchu pueblo, also known as (Aguas Calientes) where we spend the third night of this expedition, the train will depart at 4:36 pm or 7:04 pm.

Third Day

Machu Picchu Pueblo  (Aguas Calientes): 2050 meters / 6720 feet
Travel by train to Aguas Calientes: 1 hour and 30 minutes

Fourth Day
VISIT MACHU PICCHU - RETURN TO CUSCO

Today is the last day and perhaps the most anticipated of this LARES TREK EXPEDITION.
After having breakfast at the hotel, you can go up and explore the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu accompanied by your tour guide, the tour takes 2 and a half hours approximately, first go up to the lookout point from where you will have a nice panoramic view of Machu Picchu Citadel then descend to the urban area and discover all its hidden secrets, the tour guide will show you the most interesting places sharing with you the amazing history of MACHU PICCHU.
there is plenty of time to admire the perfection of its construction discovering the mystery behind it, as well as enjoying the fascinating landscape, the tour guide will be ready and attentive all the time to answer all your questions or doubts, at the end of this visit to Machu Picchu, you can go on your own to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain and After all this wonderful experience, we will take the bus to return to Aguas Calientes town, to rest and enjoy a delicious lunch, later on you can explore the charming town Aguas Calientes and during the afternoon at the appropriate time we have to go to the train station to board ours and return to the Poroy station in Cusco or the Ollantaytambo station, upon your arrival, we will pick you up to go back to the main square or your hotel in Cusco city.
 

Fourth Day

Bus Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu: 25 minutes
hiking from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu: 1 hour and 30 minutes
