The colca canyon is Peru’s third most-visited tourist destination, located about 160 km (99 mi) northwest of Arequipa. With a depth of about (4160 meters 13728feet) it is one of the deepest canyons in the world. Its length is about 70 km (43 mi) before the Canyon there is a colorful Andean valley with pre-Inca rooted inhabitants, and towns founded in Spanish colonial times, still inhabited by decendents of Collagua and Cabana cultures. The local people maintain their ancestral traditions and continue to cultivate the pre-Inca stepped terraces, called andenes.

8:00am We pick you up from your hotel, bus station or airport and then we begin our journey to the Colca Valley following the road that goes to the traditional Yura village, we also pass near to Quiscos valley and after 2:00hrs of travel we enter to Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, here we stop to enjoy the beautiful landscape, take pictures and know the life and behavior of the South American camels in this part of the Andes over 4000m (13.200feet) (llamas, alpacas vicuñas and guanacos) also to enjoy a delicious Inca mate, which is going to help you mitigate the symptoms of altitude sickness, and of course to buy some souvenirs made with alpaca wool then we continue to the wetlands where we can observe other wildlife species such as birds, rabbits and maybe Andean foxes later we get to PATAPAMPA at 4910m a natural viewpoint and the highest place of the entire route and where we can see the Mismi volcano origin of the Amazon River also the amazing Ampato volcano for having preserved the mummified body of the Inca Princess Juanita sacrificed more than 5 centuries ago as well as the second most active volcano of Peru Sabancaya giving a nice show for the visitors.
After a long journey we will arrive to Chivay town (3651m) considered as the largest and most important of all Colca Canyon here we have time to enjoy the lunch with a wide variety of typical food then transfer to your hotel and free afternoon to do some activities.

7:00 pm time for dinner in a traditional restaurant with folkloric alive music and traditional dances
8:30 pm transfer only for those who booked the visit to the PLANETARY.
9:00 pm transfer to the hotel to rest.
6:00am breakfast and then we continue our journey following the left bank of the Colca river where the countless fields full of crops, such as corn, amaranth, potatos, quinoa and abundant vegetation make this landscape incredibly beautiful, one hour after we get to the viewpoint Condor cross, to observe the largest flying bird in the world, whose scientific name is (Vulture Gryphus) or simply Andean condor and also get the best pictures of the impressive mountains as well as the walls and depth of this canyon and take a look at the remote villages located in its interior part, then we must return to Chivay to continue with the itinerary. this time we stop in places of great tourist interest, Choquetico viewpoint and its carved rock a petroglyph with many details reservoirs of water, channels and platforms, a model that these experts in hydraulic engineering (former settlers Collagua) used as a model to build the terraces that we have today, and also we will observe the impressive hanging tombs which jealously house the ancestors of these settlers. On the way we visit the colonial church of Maca village and its handicraft market, to buy clothes made with alpaca wool or some other souvenir made by the local people.
After lunch in Chivay, we will be returning to Arequipa in a trip of 3hrs arriving at 17: 00hrs. Approximately.
